There are two reasons I do the Blogathon. The first is the opportunity to get people to fork over some money for a good cause and the second is because I'm guaranteed to meet a few new people who turn out to be diamonds in the rough. My first Blogathon in 2005 was a lot of fun, I 'met' some bloggers I am still close with so I went into it this year knowing that I'd find at least 3 or 4 good people I'd bond with.

One of those people is joining the KMRL Mojo Radio Live broadcasting family and bringing to the station a different sort of show. There are enough stations out there with DJs playing music and nothing else, I want KMRL to have a variety of stuff.

I am happy to announce that Bobby McGee, aka the Cynical Gimp, will be broadcasting on Friday nights on KMRL. His show is called Gimp's Gripes and as Bobby put it:

Through the inaccessibility, condescending assholes, and frustrations in the life of a crip, Bobby McGee, AKA The Cynical Gimp rants incessantly on matters of the disability community, or as he calls it "the gimp world." One hour of talk, one hour of enlightenment. Fun for all, excluding people who violate the designated parking spots.

Bobby is our youngest DJ and it's a credit to his mind that I would put a minor on the air but in the many conversations I've had with Bobby since the Blogathon he has been nothing but impressive and more mature than some 32 year olds I've run across.

Welcome Bobby to KMRL and may your show provide a learning ground for the rest of us and some fun.
