My New Favourite

Now in season 3 and minus the main man from seasons 1 and 2, I have become hopelessly addicted to the British series MI-5. It airs on A&E on Saturdays at 10 PM and replays during the week.

When it first came out I wanted to like it, I watched it every week and tried like the devil to like it. British tv must be different than our own, the characters give off different airs. This isn't CSI, you don't know every inane detail of a character's personal life.

Then a few weeks ago they ran a thon, all of seasons 1 and 2 in one day. I watched them all and became totally caught up in the show and the characters. Hours went by with me gawking at the tv and loving every second.

It's intelligent tv, there are bits of wit here and there but you have to follow along and you find yourself thinking while watching. I can't speak for the accuracy or lack thereof as I know squat about MI-5 but it's amazingly well done.

Very fast-paced and current in its world leaders and events, this is one hot show. I was pissed when Tom left, as much as he annoyed me in the first two seasons it didn't seem right without Tom but Danny is proving to be the strongest link.

This is high quality television, I thank the BBC for making it and A&E for airing it. I would STRONGLY recommend this show to anyone who loves a good action plot that isn't filled with canned laughter and dialect that any trained monkey can write.

AND it has one hell of a soundtrack..

10 paws UP for MI-5.
