No No No NO NO

The kitten was just taken to the emergency vet.

He was fine all day, actually explored a little bit today and then it got bad out of nowhere.

His back legs kept giving out when he tried to walk. Then he was shaking his head back and forth. Then he was leaking loose poo from his butt. Then he tried to walk some more and just collapsed onto his side and didn't move. All he could do was let out this deep sound and Darkstar and I looked at each other and decided he needed to go now.

I can't stop the waterworks here, my head loves to fuck with me and all I can think of is I don't know if he's coming back or not.

You can get attached to a tiny kitten in a week. I got attached.

More when I hear.

Please be alright, Catsby. I don't ask for a lot out of life but please, I really need this tiny kitten to be alright.

This just in from DS on text message and the vet:

"Blood sugar so low it doesn't register. They're going to try and up his fluids. Very dehydrated."

My reply was "Is he going to live?"

No answer. I guess that's my answer.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to throw up.

Update: 10:30PM

He's got 'fading kitten syndrome.' His blood sugar was so low it wasn't registering. He was badly dehydrated even though he was drinking and eating. He would not have lasted the night if we hadn't taken him.

He's on heavy IV fluids and all sorts of stuff. He's in 'grave critical' condition and we don't know if he's going to last the night but he did respond well to the dextrose.

Everything I've read about FKS looks bleak.

I love you, Catsby. It's only been a week but I've fallen hard for you. Please come home.
